K38 Mission Statement

To train elite operators, crew and coxswains, with accessory devices; including Night Qualification certification. To educate and mentor, promote youth boating programs, professionally develop competitor skills and to reduce injury and accidents for both recreational and occupational operators.

To provide the highest level of safety coverage at special events, to lead innovation, design and standardization worldwide in the use of Rescue Water Craft, Personal Water Craft, Power Water Craft or Marine Reconnaissance Vehicles

Shawn Alladio

Shawn Alladio of K38 is the founder of the K38 Way of Training, setting Personal Water Craft standards since 1989 for a variety of use and application. 

Shawn is a certified National Safe Boating Instructor since 1999.  She has received numerous awards such as the National Safe Boating Council, National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and the National Water Safety Congress Regional Award, National Water Safety Congress 2009 Award of Merit, The National Award, Higgins and Langley Memorial Awards for Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Commendation Award, numerous heroism awards and was inducted into the National Safe Boating Councils prestigious 2011 Boating Safety Hall of Fame.  Many people and companies stand behind these awards, it is a united effort for the greater good in partnership of serving the public health and safety.

Shawn enjoys support from Kawasaki Motors Corporation USA, Hydroturf, Betty Belts, David Pu’u Photography and Liquid Militia clothing. K38 is recognized as the soul source for international training programs regarding personal watercraft, consultation, curriculum development and legislative matters.





Ms. Dalton has had a lengthy career as a renowned artist and muralist, owning her own art and marketing firm, Daltart LLC, since 1973. In 2011 Ms. Dalton began working on behalf of nonprofit organizations, first as a Marketing and Membership Director. 

Then as a Fundraising Consultant, a Development Director, a CEO and as an Executive Director. Ms. Dalton attended Palm Beach State College, and obtained a Certificate of Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Michigan State University. Audrey has served as a professional development and marketing consultant for nonprofits.

Audrey met business partner, Shawn Alladio, in 2013 at a drowning prevention conference, where they related their shared goal to promote water safety, and remained in contact. In 2017 Shawn and Audrey decided to collaborate in business and together they run K38 LLC, a Woman Owned Small Business.

Audrey states, “Working together with Shawn has been auspicious. We both operate using our strengths, with Shawn as the instructor while I conduct administration behind the scenes.” They are working together to launch another exciting project which will come to fruition this year.

Founded by Shawn Alladio, K38 teaches Personal Watercraft and Rescue Water Craft courses in swift water rescue, big wave safety, PWC competitions, flood, military, open water, surf, and disaster management for occupational lifesavers.

A lover of life, when she’s not working you will find Audrey baking, painting, swimming, practicing Yoga, and walking her dog “Wulfie”.

Happily married for over 23 years, Audrey resides in Florida with her husband, John Pennington.
